05_Tutorial DaVinci Resolve Offline / Proxy WorkflowResolve can be a bit slow on the edit page - particularly with multicam or 4K media, depending on the codec. In this tutorial we demonstrate a technique where the original camera source media for a multicam shoot is transcoded to proxy media using Resolve's Media Management capabilities. The multicam timeline is then reconformed to these low bandwidth proxies. This improves the responsiveness for cutting between camera angles. Once the cutting is 'complete', the timeline is reconformed to the original source media in preparation for final grading.
04_Tutorial Night Sky Replacement in Avid Media Composer - Part 2In this tutorial we look at a variation to the night sky replacement technique (see https://youtu.be/tpHBUUx3cMo) using BCC 10's Make Alpha to create the mask and its built-in Mocha tracker to isolate the sky and to generate the motion tracking data used to synchronize the star field to the camera motion. The matte and star field are then fed into Sapphire Builder to produce the final composition.
03_Tutorial Night Sky Replacement in Avid Media ComposerIn this tutorial we look at night sky replacement using Sapphire 10's NightSky and Luna effects to create the sky and Mocha 5 AVX and BCC 10 Match Move to synchronize the movement of the night sky with camera motion. We then use Avid's Paint Effect in conjunction with BCC's ChromaKey Study to create a matte which is then fed into a Sapphire Builder effect in conjunction with the NightSky layer to produce the final composition.
02_Tutorial Media Composer Multicam Offline WorkflowIn this tutorial we learn how to transcode a multicam shoot into a proxy media format suitable for real-time camera angle switching. We then see how to link back to the original source media for finishing. Next, we flattened the multicam edit, mix it down to a high-quality DNxHD codec and output it as a QuickTime Reference. Finally we transcode the QuickTime Reference file to a YouTube-friendly format using Video Mastering Works.
01_Tutorial Sapphire and Mocha Pro in Media Composer This tutorial demonstrates how the mocha 5 plugin for media composer can be used to roto-scope and track an object and the output used to drive Sapphire's Effect Builder mask channel, all from the Media Composer timeline!
